Today we explore the magnificent Putala Palace, the winter residence for the Dalai Lama. Next visit Sera Monastery with a history of more than 1,300 years. Stroll in the Tibetan style Barkhor Bazaar. Tonight taste the Tibetan cuisine dinner and enjoy the Tibetan Song & Dance Show. (B/L/D)

10 Jun 12 Lhasa – Gyantse – Shigatse
Drive to Shigatze, on the way stop at the holy Yamdrok Yuntso Lake for pictures. Then visit Kumbum and the Pelkor Chode Monastery located in the small town of Gyangtse before we check in Shigatse Hotel for one night stay. (B/L/D)

11 Jun 12 Shigatse – Lhasa
This morning we explore the largest Tibetan monastery, the majestic Tashilhunpo Monastery with a history of more than 600 years. This afternoon we drive to Lhasa and stay overnight at Xingding Hotel. (B/L/D)

12 Jun 12 Lhasa – Xining
We board on the Tibet Plateau Sightseeing Train and head to Xining. Relax on the oxygen enriched train while you appreciate the stunning views of the Tibetan Plateau, travel across the highest train station in the world. Overnight on board the train. (B)

13 Jun 12 Arrive Xining
Upon arrival at Xining, the provincial capital of Xinhai Province, we start to explore Taer Monastery, one of the most significant Buddhist Temple in China, famous for the ancient murals and palaces. Tonight at Xin-ing Shenwang Hotel for one night. (B/L/D)

14 Jun 12 Xining – Zhongwei
This morning we drive to explore China's biggest salty lake – Qinhai Lake, the highlight includes the Birds Island. Tonight board on Orient Express departing for Zhongwei. Overnight Orient Express. (B/L/D)

15 Jun 12 Zhongwei – Yinchuan
Upon arrival at Zhongwei Station, we get off the Orient Express and drive to experience the spectacular sand dunes. This afternoon we board Orient Express for Yichuan, where we stay at Jianguo Hyatt Hotel for one night. (B/L/D)

16 Jun 12 Yinchuan – Hohhot
Tour the ancient rock paintings carved on the cliffs, a truly art gallery created by the ancient nomadic peo-ple. Continue on to visit the ancient tombs of Xia Dynasty kings, then board on the Orient Express for Hohhot. (B/L/D)

17 Jun 12 Hohhot – Gegetala Grasslands
Upon arrival at Hohhot station, we board the coach and drive to the endless grasslands in Inner Mongolia, an unique opportunity for you to experience the Mongolian Yurt. (B/L/D)

18 Jun 12 Gegetala – Hohhot – Beijing
We drive back to Hohhot and start to visit the Tomb of Wang Zhaojun, one of the four well-known beauties in ancient China. Next stop at Dazhao Buddhist Temple, continue on the Orient Express to Beijing. (B/L/D)

19 Jun 12 Beijing
This morning we arrive at Beijing, the capital of China. After breakfast wander in the imperial Summer Pal-ace, the largest imperial garden in China. After tasting Peking duck lunch, experience pedi-cab ride among the oldest residential quarters. Tonight stay at Beijing New Yunnan Crowne Plaza Hotel for one night. (B/L/D)

20 Jun 12 Depart Beijing
Free at leisure until transfer to the airport or extend your stay in Beijing. (B)
