Daily Itinerary
Day 1 Sat: Australia - Beijing
Depart Australia to Beijing; upon your arrival at Beijing International Airport, you will be met & transferred to Days Hotel & Suites or similar hotel for four nights.
Day 2 Sun: Beijing
Start your tour at Tiananmen Square, the biggest public square in the world; explore the Forbidden City once the largest imperial palace; stroll through the Summer Palace, a typical imperial garden and cruise on the shimmering waters of Kunming Lake; take pictures of pandas at Beijing Zoo. (B/L/D)
Day 3 Mon: Beijing
After a visit to Beijing 2008 Olympic Centre including the iconic Bird’s Nest and Water Cube, it is time to realize your dream of climbing the Great Wall, one of the seven manmade wonders of the world; this afternoon walk through the Sacred Way of Animals statues before exploring the Ming Dynasty Imperial Tomb; relax tonight while enjoying a a local cultural show. Day 4 Tue: Beijing
An enjoyable morning to visit the Temple of Heaven, a unique & ancient building also named the Imperial Prayer Hall for Harvest; have fun at the Echo Wall; take photos of local people demonstrating Taiqi; watch a 3D film at Beijing City Planning Museum to understand the city’s glorious history; in the afternoon experience a rickshaw ride to see the local Hutong; tonight you will be treated with Peking Duck Dinner. Day 5 Wed: Fly Beijing - Xian
Take the early morning flight to Xian, one of the ancient Chinese capitals; rest of day visit the Provincial History Museum and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which is considered the symbol of Xian; stay at Aurum International Hotel for two nights. (B/L/D)
Day 6 Thu: Xian
A full day excursion to explore the Terracotta Warriors and Bronze Chariot of the first emperor of China, one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in the 20th century; watch the Circle Vision Movie about the emperor; on the way back to the city visit the Ceramics & Pottery Centre; tonight taste the famous dumpling dinner and enjoy the Tang Dynasty Show. Day 7 Fri: Fly Xian – Shanghai
Fly to Shanghai; upon arrival met & transfer to your hotel; rest of the day at leisure; stay Galaxy Hotel for two nights. (B/L/-)
Day 8 Sat: Shanghai
Shanghai, originally a sleepy fishing town, now is China’s most amazing cosmopolitan & populous city. It is regarded as the citadel of China’s modern economy. Start your tour in the old Chinatown followed by Yu Garden, a classical Chinese garden with 30 pavilions linked by a maze of corridors and bridges over a pond; in the afternoon visit the Shanghai Museum & stroll on the People’s Square; this evening enjoy the astonishing Shanghai Acrobatic Show. Day 9 Sun: Shanghai – Suzhou
Travel on comfortable coach to Suzhou; known as the Oriental Venice for its exquisite canals, and classic gardens; visit the UNESCO site of Master of Nets Garden and the Humble Administrator’s Garden; enjoy a relaxing cruise on the Grand Canal to the picturesque Hanshan Temple; stay at Bamboo Grove Hotel for one night. Day 10 Mon: Suzhou – Hangzhou
Travel to Hangzhou, regarded as the Paradise on the Earth; take a sampan cruise on the picturesque West Lake, a UNESCO heritage site; visit the Pagoda of Six Harmonies; taste the famous Dragon Well Tea at a local tea village; stay at Ramada Haihua Lakeside Hotel. (B/L/-)
Day 11 Tue: Hangzhou – Wuzhen –Shanghai
Explore the best-preserved ancient water town Wuzhen before we return to Shanghai to check in Galaxy Hotel for two nights. (B/L/D)
Day 12 Wed: Shanghai
Full day to explore the World Expo 10, which covers an area of 5.6 square kms with 27 master halls including the Australian Pavilion to showcase to the world the full potential of urban life in the 21st Century. The World Expo officially starts from 1 May to 31 Oct 2010.
If your stay in Shanghai is not within the Expo period, a day excursion to the ancient water town Zhujiajiao will be arranged. (B/L/-)
Day 13 Thu: Fly Shanghai – Guilin
Free at leisure until being transferred to the airport for flight to Guilin; upon arrival met & transfer to Park Hotel for one night. (B)
Day 14 Fri: Guilin – Yangshuo
Cruise on the legendary Li River; enjoy the stunning views of the limestone mountains & karsts peaks; explore the bustling local markets at Yangshuo; stay at Paradise Hotel for two nights. (B/L/-)
Day 15 Sat: Yangshuo
Full day free at leisure to explore this fascinating town and its local villages. (B)
Day 16 Sun: Fly Guilin- Kunming
Return back to Guilin to explore the colourful Reed Flute Cave before transferring to Guilin airport for flight to Kunming; stay at Kunming Hotel for two nights. (B/L/-)
Day 17 Mon: Kunming
Full day excursion to the Stone Forest; an 80 hectare site of bizarre rock formations standing pillar-like, eroded over the millennia by water & wind. It is regarded as a natural wonder on the earth. (B/L/-)
Day 18 Tue: Fly Kunming – Dali
Transfer to the airport for flight to Dali, which is renowned for its elegant and distinctive architectural style of Bai Minority. (B/L/-)
Day 19 Wed: Dali
The highlights of your full day tour include the ancient Three Pagodas; cruise on the stunning Erhai Lake, and strolling along the old town of Dali. (B/L/-)
Day 20 Thu: Dali - Lijiang
Travel to Lijiang by road. Lijiang is a cultural centre for the Naxi ethnic minority people. Explore the bustling local markets, cobbled streets and be amazed by the Naxi colorful costumes. Stay at Jiannanchun Hotel for two nights. (B/L)
Day 21 Fri: Lijiang
Today we visit Yulong Snow Mountain, the southernmost marine glacier. Its summit is more than 5000 metres above sea level and we will travel up by cable car to enjoy the stunning view of the mountain ranges. Also visit Baisha Township and enjoy the Lijiang Impression Show. (B/L/-)
Day 22 Sat: Fly Lijiang – Chengdu
Transfer to the airport for flight to Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province and considered the hometown of the Panda; stay at Tibet Hotel for two nights. (B/L/-)
Day 23 Sun: Chengdu
Today enjoy a special experience at the Giant Panda Research & Breeding Base built for the captive conservation of the Pandas; continue to Sanxindui Museum to see the awesome ancient ceramics, jade, gold and bronze objects unearthed in 1980s. (B/L/-)
Day 24 Mon: Fly Chengdu – Hong Kong – Australia
Transfer to the airport for flight to Australia via Hong Kong. (B)
