Day 1 Fri Fly Australia - Beijing
Fly with Cathay Pacific Airways to Beijing. Welcome to Beijing, China's political and cultural centre. Upon your arrival you will be met & transferred to the International Hotel for the next four nights.
Day 2 Sat Beijing
This morning visit the unique 15th Century Temple of Heaven, Beijing’s historic symbol. Stroll at Tiananmen Square and walk through the Gate of the Heavenly Peace to the magnificent Forbidden City, once the imperial residence for the Ming & Qin emperors. After lunch wander in the Summer Palace, with the largest imperial garden in the world. (B/L/-)
Day 3 Sun Beijing
Today experience the highlight of your trip as you climb the renowned Great Wall, one of the seven wonders in the world. If time permits, a photo stop will be made at the Bird Nest (National Stadium) & the Water Cube (National Aquatic Centre). (B/L/-)
Day 4 Mon Beijing
This morning explore Beijing’s historic Hutong (narrow lanes) by old fashioned pedi-cab with a visit to the traditional courtyard style houses. Next, stop at Beijing Zoo for a photo of the giant pandas. This afternoon it will be free for you to relax. (B/L/-)
Day 5 Tue Fly Beijing – Xian
Fly to Xian, a historic ancient capital. After arrival have a stroll in the busy Muslim quarter. Visit the iconic Bell Tower. Stay at Jianguo Hotel for the next two nights. (B/L/-)
Day 6 Wed Xian
This morning marvel at the extraordinary Terracotta Warriors & Horses, buried with the Chinese first emperor for more than 2,000 years. This afternoon walk or bike on the ancient city wall. Tonight enjoy the traditional dumpling dinner and watch Tang Dynasty show. (B/L/D)
Day 7 Thu Fly Xian – Shanghai
Fly to Shanghai, China's most populated city. This afternoon we are free to explore until we embark on an exciting cruise along the Huangpu River. (B/-/D)
Day 8 Fri Shanghai
We start at the bustling Bund to admire the gorgeous Art Deco buildings. Stroll along the busy backstreets of old Shanghai; wander in Yu Garden, a classic example of Chinese gardens. Later browse through the Shanghai History Museum. Tonight watch the famous acrobatic show. (B/L/D)
Day 9 Sat Shanghai - Suzhou - Shanghai
We drive to Suzhou, known as the Oriental Venice. Next, start exploring the Garden of Master's Net and the Lingering Garden. After a short cruise on the Grand Canal visit a silk spinning factory where you have an opportunity to buy Chinese silk. Later return to Shanghai. (B/L/-)
Day 10 Sun Fly Shanghai – Australia
Free at leisure until being transferred to the airport for flight home. (B/-/-)
