Daily Itinerary
Day 1 Sat: Australia - Beijing
Depart Australia to Beijing; upon your arrival at Beijing International Airport, you will be met & transferred to Days Hotel & Suites or similar hotel for four nights.
Day 2 Sun: Beijing
Start your tour at Tiananmen Square, the biggest public square in the world; explore the Forbidden City once the largest imperial palace; stroll through the Summer Palace, a typical imperial garden and cruise on the shimmering waters of Kunming Lake; take pictures of Pandas at Beijing Zoo. (B/L/D)
Day 3 Mon: Beijing
After a visit to Beijing 2008 Olympic Centre including the iconic Bird’s Nest and Water Cube, it is time to realize your dream of climbing the Great Wall, one of the seven manmade wonders of the world; this afternoon walk through the Sacred Way of Animals statues before exploring the Ming Dynasty Imperial Tomb; relax tonight while enjoying a local cultural show. Day 4 Tue: Beijing
An enjoyable morning to visit the Temple of Heaven, an ancient and unique building also named the Imperial Prayer Hall for Harvest; have fun at the Echo Wall; take photos of local people demonstrating Taiqi; watch a 3D film at Beijing City Planning Museum to understand the city’s glorious history; in the afternoon experience a ride on the rickshaw to see the local Hutong; tonight you will be treated with Peking Duck Dinner. Day 5 Wed: Fly Beijing - Xian
Take the early morning flight to Xian, one of the ancient Chinese capitals; rest of day visit the Provincial History Museum and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which is considered the symbol of Xian; stay at Aurum International Hotel for two nights. (B/L/-)
Day 6 Thu: Xian
A full day excursion to explore the Terracotta Warriors and the Bronze Chariot of the first emperor of China, one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in the 20th century; watch the Circle Vision Movie about the emperor; on the way back to the city visit the Ceramics & Pottery Centre; tonight taste the famous dumpling dinner and enjoy the Tang Dynasty Show. Day 7 Fri: Fly Xian - Shanghai
Fly to Shanghai; stroll along the busy Bund, visit Xintiandi, an area of restored Sikumen Houses; stay at Galaxy Hotel for three nights. (B/L/-)
Day 8 Sat: Shanghai
Shanghai, originally a sleepy fishing town, now is China’s most amazing cosmopolitan & populous city, regarded as the citadel of China’s modern economy. Start your tour in the old Chinatown followed by Yu Garden, a classical Chinese garden with 30 pavilions linked by a maze of corridors and bridges over a pond; in the afternoon visit the Shanghai Museum & stroll on the People’s Square; this evening enjoy the astonishing Shanghai Acrobatic Show. Day 9 Sun: Shanghai
Full day to explore Shanghai World Expo10, which covers an area of 5.6 square kms with 27 master halls including the Australian Pavilion to showcase to the world the full potential of urban life in the 21st Century. Shanghai World Expo officially starts from 1 May to 31 Oct 2010. If your stay in Shanghai is not within the Expo period, a day excursion to the ancient water town Zhujiajiao will be arranged. (B/L/-)
Day 10 Mon: Shanghai - Australia
Free at leisure until being transferred to the airport for flight home. (B/-/-)
